Services

Through out the year we will have various events to raise money for our Angel Fund.

Angel Fund

The purpose of the Angel Fund is to assist our families, neighbors, and friends, in caring for their furry loved ones in times of greatest need. The fund has also worked to help those pets who have a serious condition or need with no one to care for them – Giving a chance to the pets without one.

Meet Captain!

Meet Captain! Our most recent Angel Fund Beneficent! Captain had been hit by a car on a Tuesday. Captains Owners had taken him straight to RIVER – one of the emergency clinics here in Chattanooga. The owner was told that Captain would need a surgery to amputate his tail because of how much damage and trauma it had received due to the accident. Along with his tail amputation he would need both of his back legs sutured up. Poor Captain had such a great disposition regardless of pain he was obviously in. Captains owner searched for clinic after clinic to find one willing to accept payments for a surgery like that. When Captains owner reached out to us, we knew we could help – Our Angel Fund has been able to help so many families in need of emergency services! We are so happy to be able to share the love our community has for our pets. Captain is recovering well!

Surgeries

We do a variety of routine and non-routine surgeries. Spays and neuters are some of the more common procedures we do. Dental cleanings are another popular surgery. Whether your pet is a senior and needs extensive cleaning, or if you’re just having a prophylactic dental done, we are here to make it possible. Deciduous teeth removal is a procedure we occasionally do when a puppy has not lost its baby teeth and is past the age of losing them on their own.

Subsequently, the adult teeth will grow in and make the mouth very crowded and may cause more dental issues in the future. Mass removals are more common than we would like them to be. Some mass removals are to take off benign fatty tumors, others unfortunately, are to remove malignant masses. When a patient has bladder stones, we perform what is called a cystotomy to remove the stones from the patient’s bladder. Enucleations are performed when an eye removal is needed due to glaucoma or a vastly traumatic injury.

An Exploratory (also known as a Laparotomy) are surgeries with a purpose of finding something internal that is making the pet sick and we could not see anything with radiographs or other testing.

In-House Lab and Radiology

Having an in-house lab station makes diagnostic blood-work able to be interpreted within minutes. This enables our doctors to assemble a treatment plan faster, giving owners the reassurance and understanding they need. Although we do most blood-work and tests in-house, some specialty tests, blood-work, and biopsies have to be sent to a reference lab. Having yearly blood-work can help detect onset diseases early, as well as providing us with a healthy baseline blood panel. We always recommend performing blood-work before surgeries as well. This gives us an internal snapshot before putting a patient under anesthesia.

Another vital tool in diagnosing is our Digital X-ray System. Our technicians are able to capture images of a patient within seconds. Therefore providing the doctor with what they need to find foreign bodies, detect some internal organ diseases, and also show bladder stones. With everything combined, we feel confident that we can provide your furry family members with what they need to live a happy and healthy life!
